Our Love Story

Although we grew up in neighboring villages in Sri Lanka, our paths never crossedor at least not in any way we could remember. Life took us in different directions, each carving our own journey for over three decades. But fate, in its own mysterious way, eventually brought us together in the most unexpected of circumstances.

In 2022, Deshani received a job offer in the UK, an exciting but daunting move. Seeking guidance, her mother reached out to Roshendra’s mother for advice. Without hesitation, Roshendra stepped in to help, knowing firsthand how overwhelming it could be to start a new life in a different country. What began as a simple act of kindness soon turned into something more. Our conversations, once centered around logistics and adjustments, soon became effortless exchanges filled with laughter, late-night calls, and shared dreams. Our bond grew stronger with each passing day, blossoming into a love we hadn’t anticipated but deeply cherished.

A year into our relationship, life presented another twist. Roshendra was offered a two-year assignment in Japan with Nissan, an opportunity he couldn’t refuse. But even as he prepared for this new adventure, he knew one thing for certain: Deshani was the one he wanted to build a future with. Without hesitation, he set his heart on a plan, arranging the perfect proposal in just a few weeks.

On a crisp Parisian morning, as the golden sunrise bathed the Eiffel Tower in soft light, Roshendra led Deshani to the Trocadéro. The city was still waking up, the streets quieter than usual, allowing us a rare, intimate moment amidst one of the world’s most romantic settings. As Deshani took in the breathtaking view, Roshendra took a deep breath, got down on one knee, and asked Deshani to marry him.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. The early morning air carried the soft hum of the city, and the twinkling lights of the tower slowly faded with the rising sun. Overwhelmed with emotion, Deshani said yes, her heart full of joy.

In that perfect moment, in the heart of Paris, we sealed a promise, a promise of love, adventure, and a lifetime together.

One year after the proposal, we decided to put pen on paper and seal the deal!
